Welcome to the Jonas Garvin bio! First, I guess I should tell you a little about myself, after all, that’s what a bio is, isn’t it?
I was born in Rockford, Il to very wealthy parents, however, after being kidnapped by gypsies shortly after birth, I was sold to the poor parents I have now. I only lived in Illinois until I was 9, but did develop a strong love of Chicago sports…GO BEARS!
After leaving Illinois, my family headed east to New Jersey for a few years, then decided to head to the state I consider home, North Carolina. It was there I developed a love of BBQ and whiskey…but more about that later. After high school, I headed west to Arizona St. University, where after only ONE semester, I made THE DEANS LIST! (of academic probation) …now you see where the love of whiskey is coming into play?
I decided to leave Arizona and head north to Minnesota to become an ice cube salesman, and after that didn’t work out, I found myself in Aspen, Colorado. Aspen was great! But a guy can only be a bartending gigolo before he realizes it’s a sin (or runs out of money) and ends up back in Minnesota. Minnesota would eventually be the place I became an Iron Worker, you know, one of those idiots you see walking around tiny steel beams building skyscrapers? Well, one day, a few of the fellas thought I outta give stand up comedy a try, I did.
The rest, as they say is history. I “closed the shop, sold the house, and bought a ticket to the west coast”, and yes, now I give them the stand up routine in LA!
If you’d like to know any more about me, maybe you should just shoot the lock off your wallet and buy some tickets to one of my shows sometime…Hell, I’ll even let you buy me drink or twelve after the gig…
Hope to see you at a show soon!
